These are posted every friday by the police department public relations office. Apparently they’re moving to post everyday instead of weekly now, starting on Oct 4th.
WEEKLY ARRESTS FOR SELECTED CHARGES
Domestic violence-related charges: 29
Illegal drug-related charges: 71
DWI-related charges: 53
(These numbers are based on preliminary data which undergoes frequent modification and may not reconcile with year-end totals.)
ALCOHOL ENFORCEMENT
DIRECTED PATROL, 9/28/13. Officers from the Sully District Police Station patrolled searching for drunk drivers. Thirty-one vehicles were stopped but no drivers were charged with DWI. Twelve summonses and seventeen warnings were issued.
So if they’re fishing for drunk drivers and the majority they stopped were issued warnings, what were they stopped for? Obviously if someone is driving drunk they should be driving recklessly or dangerously right? Are they randomly just picking people and hope they’re slightly above .08 ? If that’s the case it’s highly illegal.
MOTOR CARRIER SAFETY
TRUCK INSPECTIONS, 4601 West Ox Road, 10/1/13. Officers stopped and inspected twenty-two trucks. Eight trucks were taken out of service. Seventy-seven total violations were found.
